Jill Midkiff, the veteran communications director for the state Finance and Administration Cabinet, will join Gov. Steve Beshear’s staff in August as deputy director for media relations, according to Jay Blanton, who will take over as communications director in August.
Midkiff has served six different secretaries in three administrations during her 6 1/2 years at the Finance and Administration Cabinet. She has previous experience in public information at the Public Service Commission, the Public Protection Cabinet and the Department of Insurance.
